SoCal's Tiki Beach 5K & 10K Run/Walk
SoCal's Tiki Beach Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Bolsa Chica State Park (Lot #25), 17851 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92649. The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run/Walk
- Kid's Dash (400 yards) or 1 Mile FUN RUN
Course, awards and amenities
The course is a flat, scenic out-and-back along the paved beach path with ocean views. Timing is by RFID chip provided by Itz About Time. Every registered participant receives a Polynesian-style race shirt and a Tiki finisher medal; a custom beach towel is available for purchase. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall in both the 5K and 10K, with age-group awards in five-year divisions through 80+. Special recognition is noted for participants who complete three or more Caren Ware Events in the year.
Live Polynesian drummers and dancers will perform, and an expo area will feature food vendors offering items such as pancakes, tacos, barbecue, shaved ice, coffee, and juice. A portion of proceeds supports Caren Ware Events’ global outreach and local programs.
Logistics
Early packet pick-up is available at Sports Basement in Fountain Valley the day before the race and race-morning packet pick-up is offered at the start line. Parking at Bolsa Chica State Beach Lot 25 requires a $15 state park fee; public parking is available in Sunset Beach with a walk into the park. Restrooms are located at each end of Lot 25. Strollers are allowed (stay to the right; use at your own risk). Pets are allowed if leashed (5 ft or less) and accompanied by a participant. The event proceeds rain or shine.
