Event
The Soapstone Mountain Trail Races take place on May 17, 2026 in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. The event offers two distances: Half Marathon and 6K. Both courses run through the area around Soapstone Mountain and Shenipsit Forest State Park.
Logistics
Day-of registration is available at Reddington Rock Riding Club, 93 Handel Road, Stafford Springs. The race operates a cupless policy; participants must carry their own water container. There are three aid stations on the half marathon course and no aid stations on the 6K course. Aid station volunteers will record bib numbers for safety, and participants are asked to inform a volunteer if they cannot finish the race.
Organiser and Beneficiaries
The event is organised by the Shenipsit Striders, a Connecticut trail running club founded in 1975. Proceeds from the race are designated for trail stewardship organizations in Connecticut, including the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Joshua’s Trust, and the Northern Connecticut Land Trust. The race is part of the Blue Blazed Trail Running Series.
