Snowdonia Half Marathon
The Snowdonia Half Marathon is a road and mixed terrain event held in the Snowdonia National Park, with start and finish at Gwydir Park in Llanrwst next to the cricket and football club. The 2027 edition marks the 15th running of the race.
The route passes through the village of Trefriw and visits Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant before returning via Gwydyr Castle. A steep section known as Forest Hill appears around mile 11 and is described by the organiser as having a 1:7 gradient. The organiser emphasises the route is very tough and includes multiple long climbs.
Race rules include a time limit requirement of completing each mile in under 15 minutes; failure to meet this after the third mile can result in elimination. Organiser guidance recommends an overall pace of about 12 to 15 minutes per mile. Drink stations are provided roughly every three miles and at the finish. Toilets are located near the start and at the cricket club. A professional medical team will be present on course.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a technical T shirt. Small baggage drop is available and valuables are stored at the entrant's risk. Prizes are awarded for the top three men and women and for first place in each age category. Parking options named by the organiser include Glasdir, Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy and Watling Street.
