Snowdonia Half Marathon

The Snowdonia event is a Half Marathon held around the town of Llanrwst in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The course runs past lakes and through forested sections, with open road sections and long steep climbs that have been highlighted by previous participants.

The routed course leaves Llanrwst, passes Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant, returns toward Trefriw and includes a steep 1:7 climb known locally as Forest Hill at about mile 11, before finishing via Gwydyr Castle. The organiser states the route was altered in 2016 to increase its difficulty compared with earlier editions. 2027 is scheduled as the 15th running of the race.

Practical race information includes drink stations roughly every three miles and an additional station at the finish, toilets near the start/finish and at the cricket club, a professional medical team on course, and a small baggage drop (items stored at the owner’s risk). Time limits apply: each mile must be completed in under 15 minutes or the runner may be removed from the event after the third mile. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal and a technical T-shirt; prizes are awarded for top placings and age-category winners.

The event is organised by Run Wales. Entry pricing is listed for the published offer and charity entry options exist with local hospice sponsorship requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
