Snowdonia Half Marathon
The Snowdonia Half Marathon (Hanner Marathon Eryri) is a half marathon held in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, with both start and finish in the town of Llanrwst. The 2026 event is the 14th running and follows a route that passes Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant, includes a return to Trefriw, and climbs a steep 1:7 section known as Forest Hill near mile 11 before descending toward Gwydyr Castle.
The organiser describes the course as scenic with significant hills. Drink stations are provided at roughly three mile intervals and an additional station at the finish. Toilets are located near the start/finish area and at the Cricket Club. A professional medical team is present during the event and standard UK Athletics rules apply to headphones; bone-conducting headphones are permitted.
Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers and for first place in each age category. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a technical T-shirt. Baggage drop is available for small bags only and items are stored at the owner’s risk. Some roads along the route have partial closures; runners must follow marshal instructions. Results are published by the organiser after the race. The event includes a charity option with free entry through St David’s Hospice subject to minimum sponsorship. There is no fun run at this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
