Snow Running Glenshee 2026

Snow Running is a night hill running event held around Glenshee ski station in the Scottish mountains. The format is a looped hill running circuit on compact piste snow, run at sunset and into the winter night. Two course distances are offered:

  • 6.5 km short course around the ski station.
  • 11.5 km long course around the ski station.

Registration includes collection of a race number and a kit check with a hard closure before the race. Organisers will carry out spot checks on required equipment prior to the start. Participants are required to have suitable training, a good level of health and prior experience of mountain conditions.

Mandatory and recommended equipment noted by the organisers includes mini crampons to wear or carry, a front white torch and a rear red torch, and spare torch or batteries. GPX files and OSmaps for the course are made available and participants are advised to bring a paper map and a compass as backup. Prize giving and a lucky dip draw take place after the race; hot food and drinks are available at the on-site cafe. Refunds are issued minus a £5 administration fee if requested at least 30 days before the race; no refunds after that date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
