Event details

Snow Running 2026 takes place on Saturday 28 February 2026 at Glenshee ski station in the Scottish mountains. The event is a hill running circuit on compact piste snow, run at sunset and into the winter night. There are two course distances:

  • 6.5 km
  • 11.5 km

Course and equipment

The course uses marked flags on the piste. GPX files and OSmaps are available for download. Participants are asked to bring a paper map and compass as a backup in case electronic devices fail. A kit check takes place at registration and there will be spot checks before the start. Mini crampons are likely to be required to wear or carry. A front (white) and rear (red) torch are required; a spare torch or spare batteries are recommended.

Registration, prizes and refunds

Registration opens in the afternoon and has a hard closure at 16:30. Prize giving and a lucky dip draw take place after the race. Hot food and drinks can be purchased at the ski station cafe. Refunds are issued minus a £5 administration fee. Refund requests must be made 30 days before race day; no refunds will be given after that date.
