Deuchary Hill Canter - 29 March 2026

Deuchary Hill Canter is a hill race held at Polney Loch, Dunkeld on Sunday 29 March 2026. The route covers a distance of 18 km with approximately 800 m of climb. The stated minimum age for entry is 20 on the day of the race, and the entry fee is £15 plus a booking fee.

Registration takes place at Birnam Guest House, 4 Murthly Terrace, Birnam, Dunkeld PH8 0BG and is open from 9.30. Parking arrangements for the start at Polney Loch will be communicated nearer the race. A route map is provided for competitors.

An early start option is available for runners who expect to take longer than two hours. Competitors are required to carry or wear full body cover, a compass, a map and a whistle as part of the event safety requirements. Prizegiving is held in the guest house after the race.

The event forms part of the Highland Boundary Series Championship, which counts the best three results from four races: Birnam, Deuchary, Newtyle and Craig o Barns. A small prize is planned for everyone completing all four races. Recorded course times include a male course record of 1:13:44 (2019) and a female course record of 1:36:02 (2012).
