Sneakers & Strays - Edmonton
Sneakers & Strays is a hybrid fundraising event organized by hart held in Edmonton's River Valley. The 2026 in-person event takes place at Buena Vista Dog Park near the Edmonton Valley Zoo, and a virtual option runs in the days leading up to the in-person day.
Participants may walk or run alongside their dogs on designated courses offered for the in-person event. Post-event activities include complimentary beverages and snacks, merchandise available for purchase, and sponsor booths. The event proceeds in rainy, sunny, or smoky conditions with participants advised to consider their personal health.
Available distances include:
- 3 km walk
- 5 km run
Registration options include in-person and virtual entries and a donor-only option that does not include race participation. All funds raised support hart's ongoing operations. Prizes are planned for top fundraisers by individual and by team, details to be announced. Donors contributing 20 CA$ or more are eligible for a tax receipt. Swag bags are available for pickup on race day; the virtual local option includes swag pickup prior to the in-person event while the remote virtual option does not include a swag bag.
