Event details
Sneakers & Strays is presented by hart and will take place on June 6, 2026 at Buena Vista Dog Park in Edmonton's River Valley, adjacent to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The event is hybrid with an in person option and a virtual option that runs from June 3 to June 6, 2026.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 3 km walk
- 5 km run
The in person event features a route through the river valley and post event activities including complimentary beverages and snacks, sponsor booths, and hart merchandise. Swag bags will be available for pickup at the park on race day.
Participant packages include a 2026 collector T shirt, a portable dog bowl, buy one get one free passes to select attractions, and gift cards and items from local vendors. A dog friendly finisher cookie will be given to dogs at the finish line.
All funds raised support hart's ongoing operations. Prizes are planned for top individual and top team fundraisers. Donations will be accepted through June 13, 2026. Donations of 20 CA$ and more are eligible for a tax receipt. The deadline to guarantee T shirt size in the participant package is May 9; registrations after that date are subject to size availability. The event will proceed in rain, sun, or smoke and participants should use personal judgement regarding health. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
