Smith Mountain Lake Ultra Triathlon (September 11–12, 2026)
The Smith Mountain Lake Ultra Triathlon takes place at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Huddleston, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The event weekend is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and is open to athletes aged 18 and older. Race weekend activities include an athlete briefing and pre-race dinner, and an awards banquet after the event. Transition area provisions include athlete set-up space, optional tent rental (tent rental includes two chairs and a table), a timing mat, a charging station, a nutrition area where meals will be served, and a bike mechanic area. Several event formats are offered, including solo ultra triathlon, aquabike, duathlon, relay teams of two and three, and a separate event titled The Endure 4-5-6.

Entry fees listed range from $349 to $399 depending on the event. Several events show a price increase after January 31, 2026. Registration for the double ultra relays closes on January 31, 2026 and re-opens February 1, 2026. Discounts mentioned include 10% for first responders and 10% for full-time college students; local and partner-organization discounts are also noted and require redemption by email.
