Virginia Ultra Triathlon
The Virginia Ultra Triathlon takes place on September 11 and 12, 2026, at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The event weekend features multiple ultra-distance triathlon, aquabike, and duathlon formats offered as solo and relay entries.
- Double Ultra Triathlon (Solo): 281.2 miles, 4.8 mi swim, 224 mi bike, 52.4 mi run
- The Endure 4-5-6: 98 miles, 4.8 mi swim, 100K bike, 50K run
- Single Ultra Triathlon (Solo): 140.6 miles, 2.4 mi swim, 112 mi bike, 26.2 mi run
- Double Ultra Aquabike (Solo): 228.8 miles, 4.8 mi swim, 224 mi bike
- Double Ultra Duathlon (Solo): 276.4 miles, 224 mi bike, 52.4 mi run
- Double Ultra Relay (Team of 2): 281.2 miles, relay splits as desired
- Double Ultra Relay (Team of 3): 281.2 miles, relay splits as desired
- Single Ultra Aquabike (Solo): 114.4 miles, 2.4 mi swim, 112 mi bike
- Single Ultra Duathlon (Solo): 138.2 miles, 112 mi bike, 26.2 mi run
The transition area provides individual athlete spaces and options to bring or rent a tent. Rented tents include two chairs and a table. Transition also includes a timing mat, a charging station, a nutrition area where meals are served, a bike mechanic area, and the finish line.
The weekend schedule includes an athlete briefing and a pre race dinner, and an awards banquet after the events. All races are sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
