Smelter City Scamper
The Smelter City Scamper is a community running event in Anaconda, Montana, organized by the Anaconda Community Market to fund local food access programs and support community health. All races start and finish at Kennedy Commons, 300 Main Street, Anaconda.
Distances offered include:
- 13.1 Miles Half marathon through historic neighborhoods, Washoe Park, and the West Valley Loop.
- 10K Course through historic neighborhoods, Washoe Park, and the Lorry Thomas wildlife area.
- 5K Route through historic neighborhoods and Washoe Park.
- 100 Yards One block sprint for children ages 2 to 8, free to enter.
The event is introducing a cupless race initiative to reduce single-use waste and encourage personal hydration systems. During the transition, cups will remain available on course. The first 300 racers at packet pickup will receive a Hydrapak Speed Cup, and all racers are offered a 20 percent discount on Hydrapak gear.
The Scamper takes place during Smeltermen’s Day weekend and finishes adjacent to the Smeltermen’s Day Brewfest, keeping the event connected to other local activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
