Smalley 5 Bells
Smalley Road Runners stages the Smalley 5 Bells race in and around Smalley, Mapperley and Shipley Country Park. The event includes a main timed race and a separate fun run on the event field.
The main race is a licensed, fully marshalled, timed five mile route. The course is multi-terrain and runs through woodland, along bridleways and on rural paths in the surrounding countryside. Water stations are provided at Mapperley Reservoir and at the finish. There is a designated parking field on Bell Lane which will operate a one-way system during the event; participants are asked to be considerate of local residents. Maximum capacity for the main race is 500 participants. All finishers receive a race t-shirt and a medal. Race numbers are collected on race day. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third male and female finishers, plus spot prizes and a team trophy.
A colourful fun run of approximately one mile takes place on the event field and passes through colour stations. The fun run offers a finisher medal and has limited places allocated on a first come, first served basis. Entry fees are stated for UKA affiliated and unaffiliated competitors, and separate fees apply for the fun run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
