Smalley 5 Bells
Smalley 5 Bells, organised by Smalley Road Runners, takes place on Saturday 4 July 2026. The event features a licensed, fully marshalled and timed main race over a five mile route through Smalley, Mapperley and Shipley Country Park.
The course is multi-terrain and includes woodland, bridleways and rural paths. There are water stations at Mapperley Reservoir and at the finish. A designated parking field will be available on Bell Lane; Bell Lane will use a one-way system during the event. Entry for the main race is capped at 450 participants. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for entries made by 17 May; every finisher receives a race t-shirt and a medal. Race numbers are collected on race day from the event registration desk.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third male and female finishers, plus spot prizes and a team trophy.
The race village includes food vendors, an ice cream van, a sports therapist, Woodland Trust presence, inflatables for children, toilet facilities, first aid and a bag drop.
A separate colour fun run of approximately 1 mile takes place around the event field with colour stations. The fun run entry is listed as £10/£8 with or without a T-shirt; finishers receive a medal and places are limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
