Sligo Coast to Coast 10 Mile 2026
The Sligo Coast to Coast is an annual 10 mile road event on 27 September 2026, managed by Sligo AC with permit number 26/352. The point to point course begins in Strandhill near Sligo Rugby Club and finishes on the Prom in Rosses Point. The route runs along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline with views of Knocknarea, Coney Island and Benbulben.
The course is described as flat with very little incline. There are three water stations en route and an additional station at the finish. All finishers receive a medal. Tec tops are available as an optional purchase until 26 August.
Number collection is provided on the weekend before and on race day, with new entries accepted on the Saturday evening only. A bag drop operates from Sligo Rugby Club on race day; small items must be placed in the provided bags and race numbers should be marked clearly. Bags are transported to the finish on the Prom for collection.
The event is run on a not for profit basis with Sligo Athletic Club as beneficiary and a partnership with Sligo Cancer Support Group. Participants are asked to consider carpooling or public transport for the return journey. Bus Eireann S2 serves Rosses Point after the event. Prizes are awarded for first to third male and female finishers and for age categories including over 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
