Sligo Coast to Coast 10 Mile 27 September 2026
The annual Sligo Coast to Coast 10 mile run and walk takes place on 27 September 2026. The event is managed by Sligo AC and title sponsored by Call of the Wild. Permit has been approved, cert.no: 26/352.
The event is a point to point road event starting at the Roundabout near Sligo Rugby Club in Strandhill and finishing on the Prom in Rosses Point. The route runs along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline in the shadow of Knocknarea and overlooks Coney Island and Benbulben. The course is described as flat with very little incline.
There are three water stations along the route and an additional station at the finish. Medals are provided for all finishers. Tec tops are offered as an optional purchase until August 26th.
Number collection is available on the Saturday and Sunday before the event; new entries will be accepted on Saturday evening only. A bag drop operates from Sligo Rugby Club on the event day and bags are transported to the finish for collection. The organiser asks participants, where possible, to carpool or use public transport to return to Strandhill; Bus Eireann S2 serves Rosses Point.
The event is run on a not for profit basis with beneficiaries including Sligo Athletic Club and a partnership with Sligo Cancer Support Group. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall and for first and second in specified age categories for men and women.
