Holiday Themed Running Event in Kiel
The Sleigh Bell Run/Walk is an annual holiday-themed sporting event held in Kiel, Wisconsin. The event takes place at the Kiel Middle School Gym and serves as a fundraiser for the Kiel High Booster Club. Participants typically involve more than 600 people in various running and walking disciplines.
The event features several different distances for adults and children:
- 5 Mile Run (chip-timed)
- 2 Mile Run (chip-timed)
- 2 Mile Walk
- 1/4 Mile Run (Reindeer Games for kids)
- 100 Yard Dash (Dasher's Run for kids)
Both the 2 Mile and 5 Mile runs utilize chip timing for results. The children's activities, known as the Riesterer Reindeer Games, take place following the main run/walk events. Children participating in these games receive a ribbon and a holiday treat bag.
Regarding event logistics, registration includes an official race shirt if completed by the specified deadline in November. Packet pickup and late registration are held at the Kiel Middle School Gym on the Friday evening prior to the race and on the morning of the event.
Specific rules are in place for animals; dogs are permitted on a non-retractable leash only for the 2 Mile Walk. They are prohibited from the 5 Mile course and the school building. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
