Slakk Gives Back 5K
Slakk Gives Back 5K takes place on August 1, 2026 at the L'Auberge Levee Trailhead with parking at the L'Auberge overflow parking lot. The event offers an in person 5K walk/run, a virtual 5K, and a Sleep In Supporter option. Registration fees for listed options are $35.00. In person registration opens May 31, 2026 and closes July 30, 2026. Virtual and Sleep In Supporter registration opens June 29, 2026 and closes August 1, 2026.
In person and virtual participants receive an event t shirt and a finisher medal. Virtual shirts and medals will be mailed after submission of completion. Sleep In Supporters receive an event t shirt only and will not receive a finisher medal. Event shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before July 13, 2026. Shirts will not be held after packet pickup.
Packet pickup is scheduled for July 31, 2026 at Big River Footwear Co., 7425 Corporate Blvd., Suite 800, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Race day packet pickup will be available at the L'Auberge overflow parking lot.
The course runs on the levee as an out and back with a turnaround marked by a cone. Water stations will be available along the course. Snacks and refreshments will be provided before and after the event. Vendor tables from local businesses and sponsors will be on site.
Awards include top three overall male and female finishers and age group awards for 19 and under, 20 29, 30 39, 40 49, 50 59, 60 69, and 70 plus. All proceeds will be donated directly to St. Jude Children s Research Hospital to support research, treatment, and family care without regard to ability to pay.
