Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase

Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase & Backyard Ultra : Casper Mountain, WY

This event takes place on Casper Mountain and uses forested cross-country ski and single-track trails within the Natrona County Parks Multi-Use Trail System. Operations including parking, start/finish, and post-race activities are located at the Casper Mountain Trails Center (9301 Casper Mountain Rd, Casper, WY 82601). The course traverses hilly terrain with reported lap distances of about 4.12 to 4.20 miles and roughly 400 to 450 feet of elevation gain per lap; overall elevations range from about 7,800 to 8,100 feet.

Distances offered:

• 8 mile - two laps of the 4.12–4.20 mile loop
• Backyard Ultra - repeated 4.12–4.20 mile lap run hourly until one runner remains

General race controls and participant provisions are described separately for each option. The 8 mile event allows trekking poles, provides finisher awards to all participants, and awards top three male and female finishers in two age groups (39 & under; 40 & up). Food and beverages are provided after the 8 mile race. The Backyard Ultra does not allow trekking poles, uses a coin toss to determine lap direction, and does not give age group awards. Both events prohibit non-participant pacers and personal aid outside the designated start/finish aid station area. Only the first 75 combined participants receive a registration souvenir.
