Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase and Backyard Ultra
The event takes place on July 18, 2026 in Casper, Wyoming, with parking, start/finish, and post race festivities at the Casper Mountain Trails Center (9301 Casper Mountain Rd, Casper, WY 82601). Participants can choose between a two-lap 8 mile option or the Backyard Ultra format based on a 4.17 mile lap.
Distances and formats include:
- 8 mile: two 4.17 mile laps.
- Backyard Ultra: repeated 4.17 mile laps; last runner standing format.
For the 8 mile option the lap direction alternates by year: even numbered years use a clockwise direction and odd numbered years use a counter clockwise direction. For the Backyard Ultra, a coin toss will determine the direction for each lap.
Registration notes state that only the first 75 total registrants will receive race souvenirs; souvenirs are not available after the first 75 registrants. Entry fees listed are 8 Mile - $50 and Backyard Ultra - $60. Prices increase on June 18 and again for registrations the day before the event; day before registrations accept cash or check only. The organizer specifies there are no refunds or rollovers and there is no race day registration.
