About the Event
The Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase & Backyard Ultra is a trail running event held on July 18, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming. The event location is the Casper Mountain Trails Center. Participants can choose between two formats: an 8-mile trail run (consisting of two laps on a 4.17-mile loop) or a Backyard Ultra "last runner standing" event on a single 4.17-mile loop. Course Information
The 8-mile course direction alternates each year: in even-numbered years (like 2026), the run proceeds clockwise. For odd-numbered years, it runs counter-clockwise. In the Backyard Ultra format, the direction for each lap is determined by a coin toss.
Registration
Registration is handled online. The first 75 total registrants across both events receive a race souvenir with their registration; this souvenir is not available after the first 75 sign-ups. Standard registration fees are $50 for the 8-mile event and $60 for the Backyard Ultra. Prices increase on June 18, 2026, and again for registrations the day before the event.
