Event overview
The Skunk Hollow Sneaker Chase & Backyard Ultra is a trail running event on Casper Mountain in Casper, Wyoming. The event is based at the Casper Mountain Trails Center (9301 Casper Mountain Rd, Casper, WY 82601). It offers two event choices: a roughly eight mile race (two laps) and a Backyard Ultra that uses the same loop repeated until one runner remains. Online registration closes July 16; late registration is available at packet pickup on July 17 for cash or check only. There is no race day registration. No refunds or rollovers are offered. Only the first 75 combined participants receive the registration souvenir.

- Backyard Ultra - repeated ~4.15-4.20 mile laps
- About 8 miles - two ~4.15-4.20 mile laps
The single lap measures about 4.15 to 4.20 miles with roughly 450 feet of climb. Course elevations range from about 7,800 to 8,100 feet. Trails follow forested cross-country ski and single-track routes within the Natrona County Parks Multi-Use Trail System.
Race rules and services: trekking poles are allowed for the 8 mile event but not for the Backyard Ultra. Non-participants and pacers are not allowed on course. Personal aid is restricted to the start/finish aid station area. The Backyard Ultra requires each lap to be completed within an hour; lap direction may be determined by coin toss. The 8 mile event awards finisher awards and age-group prizes for top three males and females in 39 & under and 40 & up categories. Food and beverages are provided after the 8 mile race.
