About the race
The Wizz Air Skopje Marathon is a premier sporting event held in the capital of North Macedonia. Organized by the Sport Union of Skopje and the Athletic Club Skopski Maraton, the event is a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and follows the rules of World Athletics. The races start in front of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
Participants can choose from several race categories:
- Marathon (42.194 km)
- Half Marathon (21.097 km)
- Marathon Relay (10-11-10-11 km)
- 5 km Race (5000 m)
- Team Building Race
The event utilizes a start box system based on target times to organize participants. For the marathon and half marathon, there are four designated boxes. The time limit for completing the marathon, half marathon, and relay is 5 hours and 30 minutes, while the 5 km race has a 1-hour limit.
The course is officially certified and supported by refreshment points, medical teams, and timing services. Registration packages include a start bib with an integrated timing chip, a medal for participants, and injury insurance. Depending on the registration date, a T-shirt and a personalized name on the bib may also be included.
