Events
The Skokie's Backlot Dash features two race distances:
- 5K Run/Walk: This event is open to participants aged 5 to 99. Registration opens on March 4, 2026, and the entry fee is $35.
- Kids Half Mile Color Fun Run: A color fun run for children aged 3 to 9. Registration for this event is closed and no further registrations are being accepted.
Location
The race is held in Downtown Skokie, Illinois. The address is 5215 Oakton Street, and the course runs in and around the grounds of the Skokie Backlot Bash.
Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up is available on multiple days before the event. Locations include Weber Leisure Center at 9300 Weber Park Place and the Backlot Bash site near the intersection of Floral Street and Oakton Street. Race day packet pick-up is also offered.
Participant Benefits
Participants in the 5K receive chip timing, a T-shirt, and one free beer. The 5K course is USATF certified. Participants in the Kids Run receive a T-shirt and a participation medal.

Age groups for the 5K are categorized by male and female, spanning from 14 and under to 85 and over.
