Event Overview
The Skagway Marathon takes place in the wilderness of Southeast Alaska, starting at the Seven Pastures Recreation Area and Dedman Stage. The event features multiple distances that traverse diverse terrain, including fjord coastlines, glacially-carved valleys, and Sitka Spruce forests. Participants cross the Taiya River trestle bridge and pass several streams along the route.
The course is a road and trail hybrid that follows an out and back format. It includes multiple hill climbs and travels through West Creek Valley. Elevated sections of the route offer views of the West Creek Glacier and various mountain peaks within the alpine landscape.
