About the race
The Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk is an annual event held at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY, supporting Sitrin’s Military Program for post-9/11 veterans. The event features multiple race options including a 5K Run, 5K Riggie Challenge (where participants eat a bowl of chicken riggies mid-race), 5K Wheelchair Race and Challenge, a 2-Mile Walk, and a Kids 1-Mile Run. Chip timing is used for accurate results.
After the races, the Riggiefest takes place, showcasing local restaurants' versions of the famous Utica chicken riggies dish, with tasting and voting for the best entry.
