Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk
The Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk takes place on October 11, 2026 at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. The event combines running, walking, adaptive racing, and a food festival that follows the activities. It supports Sitrin’s military program, which provides care and community services for post-9/11 veterans and service members.

- 5K Riggie Challenge
- 5K Wheelchair Race
- 5K Wheelchair Riggie Challenge
- 2 Mile Walk
- Kids 1 mile run, open to ages 4 to 12
The Riggie Challenge is an optional entry for 5K runners and wheelchair participants and requires consuming one bowl of chicken riggies at the halfway point for those who register for the challenge. The 5K Run and 5K Wheelchair Race are chip timed. Prizes are awarded to winners in each age division. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at The Sneaker Store in New Hartford. No refunds are offered.
A Riggiefest is held after the Run and Walk in the Wildcat Field House. Local restaurants present their versions of the Utica dish. Paid event participants may sample entries at no additional cost and vote for a favorite. Community members may attend the Riggiefest for a fee.
