Event details
The Sitrin Riggie Run & Walk takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, 100 Seymour Rd, Utica, NY 13502. The event program includes multiple race and walk options:
- 5K Run
- 5K Riggie Challenge
- 5K Wheelchair Race
- 5K Wheelchair Riggie Challenge
- 2 Mile Walk
- Kids 1-Mile Run
Registration occurs the morning of the event and a packet pickup is scheduled the day before at The Sneaker Store, 24 Genesee Street, New Hartford, NY.
Race features and logistics
The 5K Run and 5K Wheelchair Race are chip timed. The Riggie Challenge requires registered 5K Run and wheelchair participants to consume one bowl of chicken riggies at the halfway point of the race; a traditional 5K division is offered as an alternative. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age division. No refunds are offered for this event.
A Riggiefest follows the Run & Walk in the Wildcat Field House where local restaurants showcase their versions of the Utica dish. Paid Riggie Run & Walk participants may taste entries at no additional cost and cast votes; community members may attend Riggiefest for a fee.
