Trail Running in the Pennsylvania Wilds
The Sinnemahone Ultra Trail Run takes place in Emporium, Pennsylvania, with the course traveling through the Elk State Forest. Participants navigate a variety of surfaces including rail trails, dirt roads, and forest paths. This is an open course event, meaning the routes are not closed to other traffic or users.
Participants can choose from several distance options that start and finish in the town of Emporium:
- 50k Ultra: Includes seven manned aid stations along the route.
- 50k Relay: A team event for three people following the same route as the ultra.
- 25k Trail Run: Features two manned aid stations for participants.
- 12k Trail Run: Includes one manned aid station on the course.
The event utilizes the local landscape of the PA Wilds, providing access to remote forest areas and rural roads. Manned aid stations are positioned throughout the different courses to provide support. Following the conclusion of the runs, food is provided for the participants at the finish area in Emporium.
