Run for the Elk Race Festival is a one-day running event held on July 26, 2026, at the West Creek Industrial Trail, E. 3rd and Chestnut St., Emporium, PA 15834. The festival offers multiple race distances on the same course layout.

The full marathon is a certified Boston Marathon qualifier (certification number PA22017NP) and runs as two loops of the course. The 5K goes out 1.55 miles and returns to the finish; the 10K goes out 3.1 miles and returns. A four-hour time limit applies to the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Marathon entries include an option for an early start that provides at least 6.5 hours to complete the distance.
Pre-race packet pickup is available on Friday, July 24 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at the start/finish area; additional race morning pickup is available at the event. All registrants receive a race t-shirt, finisher medal and a pair of running socks. First-time half marathon, marathon and combo finishers receive a plaque.
Amenities listed for finishers include pizza and salad from Fox’s Pizza in Emporium, live/text/email results, and free finish-line photos. Awards are available by gender category M/F/X and by age groups; there is no formal awards ceremony and awards can be picked up after finishing.
