SilverBackTrails Goathland V Trigs
SilverBackTrails Goathland V Trigs is a navigational running and walking challenge held in Goathland in The North York Moors National Park on 17 April 2027. The route starts and finishes at Goathland Village Hall and covers approximately 37 miles, visiting five listed Triangulation Pillars. The event accepts solo entries and pairs, with a maximum field of 65 participants and entry fees set per pair and per solo entry.
Participants navigate their own route while using public rights of way and must visit all checkpoint locations in the order provided. Checkpoint and pillar locations, a suggested route map and a GPX file are supplied in advance; a map with the suggested route is also available at registration. One checkpoint is kept as a mystery and is revealed on course at a marshalled location.
The event is self supported; there are three checkpoints offering snacks and drinks. Support crews and external support runners or walkers are not permitted. Competitors have a 15 hour limit to complete the course and should be prepared to finish after dark. Required kit includes a map covering the North York Moors, compass, headtorch with spare, emergency bivvy, spare clothing, waterproofs, charged mobile phone and power pack, at least 500 ml fluid and emergency food, and a cup for checkpoint drinks. Finishers receive a medal and certificate. A hot meal is provided at the finish with vegetarian and gluten free options, and an optional event technical T shirt is available for purchase.
