Silks & Satins 5K
The Silks & Satins event is a 5K race in Saratoga Springs, New York, scheduled for September 5, 2026. In 2026 the race is planned for the last Saturday of Saratoga’s thoroughbred horse racing season and takes place near the Fasig-Tipton auction house at 153 George Street.
The course is described as fast and flat and starts and finishes near the Oklahoma training track, with the route weaving through the East Side residential neighborhood and passing homes and gardens. The course is not USATF certified. Maps for the course and nearby parking lots are provided for reference.
Packet pick-up is organized in advance outside the Fasig-Tipton auction house on July 11. A limited number of complementary admissions are available at packet pick-up: the first participants to pick up bibs receive a general admission ticket to Saratoga Race Course, and there are free admission passes for the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame available for entrants. Awards include medals for first through third place in Open and Masters categories and age group awards in five year increments.
Volunteers are requested for roles such as course marshals, packet pick-up staff, and finish line water distribution. Proceeds from the event benefit Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga, a 501c3 nonprofit that supports second careers for retired racehorses and offers equine-assisted therapeutic programming.
