Silks & Satins 5K - Jeff Clark Memorial
The Silks & Satins is a community 5K held in Saratoga Springs on July 11, 2026. The course starts and finishes near the Oklahoma training track, close to the Fasig-Tipton auction house, and runs through portions of the East Side residential neighborhood near local horse racing facilities. The organizers describe the course as fast and flat. Note that the course is not USATF certified.
Race awards include medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Open and Masters categories, and age-group awards in five-year increments. The event offers a limited number of complimentary general admission tickets to Saratoga Race Course and a limited number of free admission passes to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame for participants who pick up their bibs.
Packet pick-up takes place on the morning of the race outside the Fasig-Tipton auction house. Volunteers serve as course marshals, assist with packet distribution, and hand out water at the finish; these roles are noted as important to event operations.
Proceeds from the Silks & Satins 5K benefit Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga, a nonprofit that supports second careers for retired racehorses and provides equine-assisted therapeutic programming aimed at improving mental health and emotional wellness in the community.
