About the race
Silkeborgløbet is a community running and walking event held in Silkeborg with start and finish at Indelukket and routes through nearby forests. The course is arranged as a star race where participants complete one, two or three loops depending on their chosen distance. Routes pass through Nordskoven, Østerskov and Vejlbo Mose and are mostly on forest trails with only short sections of asphalt.
Offered distances:
- 2.5 km (children)
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon)
There are separate options for running and walking on the 5 km, 10 km and half marathon distances. Walkers registered for the half marathon must be able to complete the route within a maximum of 4.5 hours. Organizers do not recommend children under 14 running the half marathon; if a child under 14 is entered, they must be accompanied by a registered responsible adult.
Practical rules: dogs are not allowed on the routes. Barnevogn/klapvogn and running strollers are not permitted on the main routes because of narrow trails and bridges; they are allowed on the children’s 2.5 km race if started at the back. Runners and walkers should keep to the right when groups are together.
Facilities and services include water and sports drink stations at roughly 5, 10, 13 and 18 km, fruit and drinks at the finish, and coffee and cake available after the event. Prizes are awarded to the fastest woman and man in each run and walk distance. Children up to 12 years receive a free medal and ice; other participants can order a medal when registering. Group registrations of more than 20 participants under the same name receive a complimentary soda for the group after the event. Registration closes 16 April 2027; on-site registration is possible with an additional fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
