Shropshire Historic 50K 2027

The Shropshire Historic 50K is a point-to-point road and trail event covering 50 kilometres from Telford Town Park to Shrewsbury. The route passes several historic sites, including The Silkin Way, Ironbridge, Buildwas Abbey, the birthplace of the modern Olympics at Much Wenlock, Wroxeter Roman City, Attingham Park, Shrewsbury Prison and Shrewsbury Castle. The advertised finish location is Shrewsbury Quarry.

The event package includes a bespoke medal, professional chip timing, five nutrition stations on the route, officially measured courses and free photo downloads. A technical running T-shirt is available at an additional cost. Early bird and general admission ticket options are listed with differing prices.

For 2027 the organisers plan a few route adjustments to remove some of the tougher trail sections. Participants who complete the three-event series—Historic Shropshire 50K, the Church Stretton 50K (Shrewsbury to Church Stretton) and the Shrewsbury 50K (Church Stretton to Shrewsbury)—receive a special series medal.
