Shoreline Classic
The Shoreline Classic is a road racing event located in Decatur, Illinois. The courses are situated along the shores of Lake Decatur, providing participants with a setting that features autumn colors. The event includes road races of different lengths and terrains to accommodate different athletic interests.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 15K: A course featuring rolling terrain.
- 5K: A USATF certified course described as fast.
- Tot Trot: An event designed for young runners.
- Virtual 15K: A remote participation option for the 15K distance.
- Virtual 5K: A remote participation option for the 5K distance.
The 5K and 15K races are both USATF certified. While the 5K is held on a flatter path, the 15K route takes runners through varied elevations. The event is held over a weekend in early October, starting with the youth activities followed by the main running races. The staging area for the event is located at Pavilion Drive.
