Event

Shore2Shore takes place in East Islip, New York, on April 18, 2026. The event offers two race distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K

Organizers describe the 50K as a point-to-point route from Sunken Meadow on the North Shore to Heckscher State Park on the South Shore. The race is presented as the inaugural Shore2Shore 50K.

Registration closes April 15 at 11:59 PM ET. The event typically does not issue refunds, but rollovers or transfers to other events are available; refunds are unlikely once the event is within 14 days.

Course and logistics

The course uses the Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail. The trail is mostly maintained but includes some road sections and crossings. Course markings will be in place. Parking is at the finish area in Heckscher State Park. Bus transport to the start is available for those who purchase a ticket. A start-line check-in will confirm participants who are beginning the race.

Aid stations and participant requirements

Fully stocked aid stations will be available with Hyle Hydration and Huma gels, plus sandwiches, snacks, sodas, candy, and fruit. Crew information for aid stations will be provided later.

As part of registration, each entrant must provide two hours of trail or volunteer service between signup and April 1. Options include volunteering with the Long Island Greenbelt Association, volunteering locally with verification, or donating $20 to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail. Instructions are sent in the confirmation email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
