Shoots and Ladders 5K & 10K
Shoots and Ladders is an annual running event offering in person and virtual options over 10K and 5K distances. The in person event uses the Red Tail Pavilion at Oak Point Park in Plano, Texas as the Start and Finish area and follows a route through Oak Point Park and its nature preserve.
The event includes:
- 10K
- 5K
All race participants receive a blinking lights finisher medal, a gender specific technical shirt, and a race bib. Virtual participants receive a shirt, medal, and bib with virtual packets shipped approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the event date; shipping is available to the US continental only. The race is part of a six race AMPT series in which completing all six events earns an acrylic base to display the 2026 medal collection.
Proceeds benefit the Plano Police Association and the Plano Firefighters Association. Both beneficiary organizations are described as fraternal, benevolent, and charitable 501(c) entities that support their members, families, and the community and that work to honor first responders and promote public safety.
The event has been held annually and is described in organizer materials as taking place in early May. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
