Shoots and Ladders 5K & 10K
Shoots and Ladders is a community running event offering both 10 km and 5 km distances with in-person and virtual participation options. The race is organized by AMPT Running Co and is part of the organizer's multi-race series.
The in-person course starts and finishes at the Red Tail Pavilion in Plano, Texas, and follows a route through Oak Point Park and its nature preserve. The event is typically held in May and is presented as an annual race.
Proceeds support the Plano Police Association and the Plano Firefighters Association. Both beneficiary organizations are described as fraternal, benevolent and charitable 501(c) organizations that serve members, families, and the wider community with a mission to honor those who serve and to help ensure public safety and well being.
All registered participants receive a gender-specific technical shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal with blinking lights. Virtual registrations include the same shirt, medal, and bib for U.S. continental addresses, with virtual packets scheduled to ship approximately four to six weeks after the event date.
