Ship Bottom Sprint for Life

The Ship Bottom Sprint for Life is an annual community event held in Ship Bottom, New Jersey. Established in 2001, the event raises funds for cancer support organizations, specifically the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the David's Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation. The race honors the memory of Vito Pennisi and Patrick Harrington.

Participants can choose from three distinct events:

  • 5k Run
  • Kidz Mini Sprint (open to those aged 12 and under)
  • Fitness Walk

The course is located at the Ship Bottom Municipal Ramp on West 10th Street. Results for the competitive portions are scored by DQ Events and made available online. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5k, as well as to the top three finishers in 10-year age increments.

Registered participants who sign up by the early April deadline are guaranteed a long-sleeved t-shirt. The Kidz Mini Sprint participants receive a short-sleeved t-shirt and a medal. Check-in and packet pick-up take place at the 10th Street boat ramp on the day of the event. Parking is available at the Ship Bottom Boat Ramp, with the race starting nearby on 11th Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
