Course routes move through the historic town and surrounding areas, featuring gently rolling hills, downtown streets, residential neighborhoods, Green-Dickson Park, stretches of countryside, and the locally known "Manure Mile."
The event benefits the Boot Campaign; all proceeds are donated to support veterans and military families. Awards include Top Overall Male and Female and Top Masters Male and Female based on gun time, with age group awards based on chip time across 12 divisions from 20 and under through 70 plus.
Post race festivities feature live music, cold Shiner beer, craft cocktails, and food. Brewery and distillery tours are available for a fee of $10 per person, operate on a first come first served basis, and are limited to 25 people per tour; tour registration occurs at the Welcome Center.
