Shiner Beer Run
The Shiner Beer Run returns to Shiner, Texas, for its 15th anniversary edition. This event takes place through the historic streets and surrounding countryside of Shiner, with courses featuring a variety of terrain and local landmarks. Participants pass through the downtown area, local neighborhoods, and Green-Dickson Park. The routes also include sections of rolling hills and a specific stretch known as the "Manure Mile."
Participants can choose from three main running distances:
- 1/2 Marathon
- 10K Run
- 5K Run
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Boot Campaign, with proceeds used to support veterans and military families. Competitive recognition is provided for several categories. The Top Overall Male and Female and Top Masters Male and Female winners are determined by gun time. Age group awards are based on chip time and are divided into 12 separate divisions beginning at 20 and under through to 70 and over.
Post-race activities are held at the site, featuring live music, food, and beverages. Attendees can also participate in brewery and distillery tours at the Spoetzl Brewery. For non-runners aged 21 and over, a Partner Pass is available, which provides a meal and beverage options at the event site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
