Shetland Novice Triathlon 2026 : North Mainland Leisure Centre
The Shetland Novice Triathlon takes place at North Mainland Leisure Centre in Brae. The event comprises a pool swim, a road cycle and a run, organised as a single race with a required race brief that all competitors must attend.
Distances:
- 400 m pool swim in a 16 m pool.
- 10 km cycle out north for 5 km, turn just before the Scatsta Airport junction, then return.
- 2.5 km run on an out-and-back course through downtown Brae, turning at the Busta Junction.
Competitors must be at least 15 years old on 31 December 2026. Parental consent is required for competitors aged 15 to 17. Bikes must be roadworthy and helmets are compulsory.
Entry places are limited to 50. Individual entry fees are £10 for Shetland Triathlon Club members and £15 for non-members. Participants who are not members of Triathlon Scotland or another Home Nations triathlon federation must purchase a race pass; race pass costs for this event are £2 plus service charge for participants aged 24 and under, and £8 plus service charge otherwise.
Registration is handled at the leisure centre to collect race numbers and bike rack slots; competitors are asked to indicate their expected time for the 400 m swim. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
