Event Overview
The Shelton Striders 10K and Fun Run take place in Alvaston, Derby, starting and finishing at the Boulton Lane Park Community Centre. The event features two distinct distances:
- 10 km race
- 2 mile (approximately) Fun Run
The 10 km course is described as flat and fast, offering participants the potential to achieve a personal best. The route incorporates the local canal path and various pathways, while also utilizing Infinity Way. For the Fun Run, participants follow a route that uses the old canal path and nearby fields, sharing the same start and finish locations as the main race.
Logistics and Registration
The event headquarters and race village are located at the Community Centre on Boulton Lane. Participants must register for the 10 km in advance, as there are no entries accepted on the day of the event. The Fun Run allows for both online registration and entries on the day at the venue.
Optional event apparel, including long sleeve T-shirts and hoodies, is available for purchase. A portion of each 10K entry fee is donated to a nominated charity, which for the 2026 event is Umbrella, a local organization supporting disabled children and young people in Derby and Derbyshire.
