Event Overview
The Shelli Huether Veterans Day Honor Run takes place at Granny White Park in Brentwood, Tennessee. This event offers several ways to participate, including running, walking, or rucking. Participants choose from set distances or time-based challenges. The course consists of a 0.8 mile paved loop that circles the park. The terrain includes some gentle hills.
Participants can select from the following event categories:
- 5K (4 loops)
- 10K (8 loops)
- 8-Hour individual race
- 4-Person Relay Team for the 8-hour duration
- Virtual participation option
Registrants in the rucking categories are required to provide their own rucksack, backpack, or weighted vest. Weight requirements are determined by the participant's body weight: those 151 lbs or greater must carry 20 lbs, while those 150 lbs or less carry 10 lbs. Weigh-ins occur at both check-in and the finish line.
The event is chip-timed, and a single aid station providing water and Gatorade is available on the course. Medical personnel and supplies are located on-site. For the 8-hour individual and relay events, one team member participates at a time while others can rest at a nearby pavilion. Participants in the 8-hour categories also receive lunch. The park features a playground, and dogs are permitted on the grounds.
All proceeds beyond expenses are donated to the National Guard Association of Tennessee and Lantern Lane Farm Counseling Center. Cash prizes are awarded to top male and female finishers across different categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
