Course and logistics
The course is a paved 0.8 mile loop around Granny White Park with a few gentle hills. The 5K is four loops (listed as 3.2 miles) and the 10K is eight loops (listed as 6.4 miles). The 8-hour events ask participants to complete as many loops as possible within the time limit. Relay teams consist of four members with one person on course at a time.
One aid station will provide water and Gatorade. A nurse and medical supplies will be on-site. 5K and 10K entries include a race shirt (while supplies last), bib, and medal; 8-hour entries also include lunch. Ruck participants must wear a weighted pack or vest: 20 lb for participants 151 lbs and over, 10 lb for participants 150 lbs and under; packs will be weighed at check-in and at the finish.
