Course, ruck rules, and facilities
The course is a paved 0.8 mile loop around Granny White Park. The 5K is four loops (listed as 3.2 miles) and the 10K is eight loops (listed as 6.4 miles). The course has a few gentle hills. Ruck participants must bring a rucksack or weighted vest; competitors weighing 151 lbs or more must use 20 lb weight, and those 150 lbs or less must use 10 lb weight. Packs will be weighed at check-in and at the finish.
One aid station on course will provide water and Gatorade. A nurse and medical supplies will be on-site. Lunch is provided for 8-hour participants. The pavilion can store gear; participants may bring chairs, blankets, or a canopy. Dogs are allowed in the public park and a playground is nearby.
Fundraising and prizes
Net funds raised beyond expenses will be split equally between the National Guard Association of Tennessee and Lantern Lane Farm Counseling Center.
