Shannon Trail Series
The Shannon Trail Series is a three-race trail series in San Angelo, Texas, held January 16 to February 20, 2027. The series uses multiple park venues around San Angelo and offers both short and long course options across the three dates.
Race venues and distances:
- Race 1: 5K or 10K at Middle Concho Park
- Race 2: 5K or 12K at Twin Buttes Boat Ramp
- Race 3: 5K or 15K at San Angelo State Park, Chaparral Pavilion
Races are chip timed and awards are based on gun time. Chip times may be available for reference but are not used for scoring or awards. Finisher medals are handed out at each race on race day only; medals will not be distributed before or after race day. No awards are given at Race 1 or Race 2. All series awards, including age group awards, are presented after Race 3. Series scoring for 2027 is based on the total time of all three races; to be eligible for series age group awards a participant must finish all three races on the same course type (short or long).
Additional notes: packet pickup in 2026 is scheduled at SoCo Taphouse with an option to pick up race morning. There is no virtual option for this series. Walking is permitted. Pets are not allowed on course and strollers are not appropriate for the narrow, rocky trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
