Shamrock Scurry 5K/1 Mile

The Shamrock Scurry is an annual road race held at Killearn Methodist Church that began in 1981. The event offers two distances:

5K
1 Mile (youth Grand Prix points only)

Registration opens 12/31/2026 and closes 3/5/2027. Fees are listed per distance and registration permits adding a shirt. Registration includes a post-race pancake breakfast. Packet pickup is available at Killearn Methodist Church on Thursday 4:00-7:00pm, Friday 11:00am-2:00pm, or Saturday at 7:00am.

The course begins near the church on Roscommon Drive and passes residential areas and the Killearn Country Club golf course. Most of the original route is followed and includes a notable hill around mile two often referred to as Scurry Hill. The event directs proceeds to local charities, youth rehabilitation programs, and feeding programs. It regularly attracts about 1,000 regional runners and is designated as the 5K for the Capital City Senior Games for participants aged 50 and over, who must register separately with the Senior Games to compete there.
