Sgt. Ruff's Color Run
Sgt. Ruff's Color Run is the second annual color run and fun run held on November 7, 2026 in Lenoir, North Carolina at 1050 Zacks Fork Rd. The event offers a festive, color-powder experience using food grade colored powder.

The event benefits Shepherds for Sheepdogs, a 501(c)(3) based in Lenoir that purchases professionally trained service dogs for disabled veterans and first responders. One hundred percent of proceeds support the dog and hero pair.
The course takes place on the City of Lenoir Greenway with a start and finish at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex parking lot. The event is out-and-back and includes multiple color stations; both races begin with a color party, the Pup Run has two additional color points and the Big Dawg has four.
Race registrants receive a white Sgt. Ruff T-shirt, a bandana, a pair of sunglasses, and an individual color bomb. All finishers receive a custom dog tag medal. A VIP Big Dawg ticket includes an extra color bomb, a sticker pack, and a special edition shirt. A family ticket option is available for households of four or more at the same address. Ages five and under are free but do not receive race items.
The Big Dawg includes timing devices for recorded results. The Pup Run is untimed with no bib, no chip, and no age limits. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed. Additional color bombs and race swag are available for purchase and volunteers are needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
