Event Overview
The SFASU Homecoming 5K is an annual running and walking event held on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Now in its 19th year, the event takes place on a route through the university's historic grounds. The proceeds from the race are used to fund scholarship initiatives for student employees of Campus Recreation.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles) for community members, alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
- 1 Mile Fun Run (not timed).
Registration and Participation
Registration for the race opens in early September and remains available until the day of the event. Participants are categorized into different groups for the 5K distance, including students, faculty and staff, and community members or alumni, with varying registration fees for each group. The 1 Mile Fun Run is offered at a separate rate and serves as a non-competitive option for those who do not require timing services.
