About the race
The Set the PACE 5K takes place on October 25, 2026, at the Detroit Riverwalk, 1340 Atwater St, Detroit, MI 48207, with the course running through Milliken State Park. The event offers an in person timed out-and-back 5K run, an in person 5K walk, and a virtual 5K option that may be completed from any location between Oct 22 and Oct 25, 2026.
Packet items are provided to participants who registered by Oct 5, 2026 and include a t-shirt, race bib, and medal; virtual participants receive a medal in their race packet. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after Oct 5, 2026. Registration fees listed for the in person run and walk are $35.00 and for the virtual option $40.00. The event is non refundable.
The out-and-back course is timed and includes one water station at the turnaround, approximately the one-mile mark. The virtual 5K is completed on an honor system and may be run, walked, rolled, biked, or done on a treadmill or track. Participants are asked to leave personal pets and dogs at home for safety and comfort. Awards will be given to the first place male and first place female finishers.
