Event Information
The Set the PACE 5K is a timed running and walking event in Detroit. It is the 5th annual edition. The event supports PACE Southeast Michigan's mission to help older adults live independently.
The course is an out-and-back route along the Detroit Riverwalk and runs through Milliken State Park. One water station is provided on the course at the turnaround, approximately at the 1-mile mark. The event is non-refundable and will be held regardless of weather.
Events and Registration
The event takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Participants can choose from three options:
- Set the PACE 5K RUN
- Set the PACE 5K WALK
- Set the PACE 5K VIRTUAL RUN/WALK (October 22 - 25)
Registration for the in-person run and walk opens on May 14, 2026. The in-person run and walk both start and finish at the Detroit Riverwalk at 1340 Atwater St.
Participant Details
All participants who register by Friday, October 9, 2026, will receive a t-shirt and a race bib. A finisher medal is also provided. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after that date. Virtual participants will have their packet, including the medal, mailed to them. In-person participants pick up their shirt and bib on race day and receive their medal at the finish line.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers. Additional awards are provided for runners in several age groups, from 15 and under to 61 and up. Personal pets and dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
