Event
The Self Transcendence 24-hour Track Race is a timed track ultramarathon held at Millennium Arena, Battersea Park in London. First held in 1989, the event takes place each September and has produced a number of National and World Best Records. It is organised by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in conjunction with Run and Become and is conducted under UK Athletics rules. The event is chip timed and holds an IAU Bronze Label.
Entry and facilities
Entry is limited to 55 runners and places are allocated on the basis of previous experience and potential. Competitors must have completed at least 100K in the last couple of years. Entry for the 2025 race is closed and the 2026 race is scheduled to open in February 2026. Accepted applicants must pay the entry fee within seven days or risk losing their place; a waiting list operates for late openings.
The event provides a live leaderboard, lap counting supervision, medical and physiotherapy support, officials including a race referee and time keeper, and trackside lap counters. Venue facilities include trackside parking (booked in advance), space for tents or support stations, a communal tent, heated indoor changing rooms and physio treatment room, showers, nearby toilets and trackside portaloos, and trackside refreshments. All race meals are vegetarian. Runners are asked to bring a windproof jacket and full-length tights or trousers.
