Self Transcendence 24 Hour Track Race & British 24 Hour Championships
The Self Transcendence 24 Hour Track Race is an annual 24-hour track event held in September at Millennium Stadium, Battersea Park, London. The 2026 edition incorporates the British 24 Hour Championships and the event is IAU Bronze Label and holds a UK Athletics Level 2 permit. Entry for the 2026 race opens on 4 February 2026.
The race is limited to 55 competitors and is open only to runners with recent ultra experience of at least 100 km or a 12-hour event. When entries exceed places, organisers select the field based on previous experience and potential and operate a waiting list. The event can be used for international qualification.
Support and race services include lap counters, sports physiotherapists, race officials, trackside refreshments offered through the night, heated indoor changing and treatment rooms, trackside parking and space for tents and support stations, plus a large tent for kit. Direction of running changes every four hours. Live results and post-race splits for intermediate marks such as 50K and 100K are published.
Race procedures follow UK Athletics and IAU rules: pacing by supporters is not permitted, competitors must wear bib numbers including a chipped number, and phones and headphones have specific lane and equipment restrictions. Officials manage off-track breaks and final lap measurement using a marker placed by the competitor at the race finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
