10th Annual Seize the Day - Windsor
The event is a community fundraiser held on September 12, 2026, at the Vollmer Culture & Recreation Complex in Windsor, Ontario. It offers in-person and virtual participation to support programs and services for people living with epilepsy, their families, and communities across Southwestern Ontario.
In-person activities take place in a park setting that includes a pavilion and marked trails. There is access to an accessibility playground and a splash pad when weather permits. Some trails are gravel rather than paved, and the course is described as flat and accessible.
Distances:
- 5 km run
- 2.5 km walk
Virtual participants may complete their chosen distance from any location and have until September 19 to record their result. Virtual participation is free. In-person registration fees apply and registration is required per individual; children under 12 attend in person at no charge. Offline donations and pledge forms are accepted, with cheques payable to Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario. Funds raised support local programs.
Event resources are provided, including a beginner 5K training plan, fundraising tips, downloadable pledge form and event poster, a social media toolkit, and a team captain kit. Participants are asked to wear purple or previous Seize the Day shirts this year because new event T-shirts are not being provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
