Sebastian Scream 5K & Haunted Rail Trail
Indian River County First Responders present the Sebastian Scream 5K & Haunted Rail Trail on October 24, 2026 at the North County Aquatic Center, 9450 County Rd. 512, Sebastian, FL. The event combines a community 5K on the local rail trail with an evening haunted trail and family activities organized by the county parks and recreation department.
Proceeds will support counseling services, peer support programs, and critical stress debriefing initiatives for local Police, Sheriff, Fire, and EMS personnel. Entry fees are listed as $35 in advance and $40 on race day, and no refunds are offered. Each race participant receives one ticket to the Haunted Rail Trail and a Sebastian Scream T shirt while supplies last; registration by October 6 guarantees a shirt.
The 5K route proceeds west from the North County Aquatic Center toward I‑95 and returns to the aquatic center. Awards include a best costume prize, top overall male and female, masters 40 plus categories, and age group awards for top three male and female finishers across standard age brackets.
Packet pick up and race registration are available at Runners Depot Vero Beach and at the North County Aquatic Center. Additional activities include a Halloween movie at the pool and a trunk or treat hosted by the parks and recreation department. Trunk or treat is free to attend, intended for participating businesses and vendors with a limit of 30 vendors, and no masks, bags, or Halloween props are allowed on the haunted trail.
