Seattle Atatürk Unity Run

The Seattle Atatürk Unity Run is a community-focused sporting event held at Gas Works Park and along the Burke-Gilman Trail. This inaugural event commemorates Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and the 145th birthday of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. The event focuses on themes of youth, community, and unity.

The course follows a flat and paved route along the scenic Burke-Gilman Trail toward the University of Washington, providing views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. Participants can choose from several on-site distances and categories:

  • 10K Run/Walk: A flat course on the paved Burke-Gilman Trail.
  • 5K Run/Walk: A family-friendly distance following the same scenic route.
  • 5K Sip N Stroll: A casual walking option for those at a relaxed pace.
  • Kids Dash: A 200-yard fun run for children near the start area.

The event is open to participants of various abilities, and strollers are permitted at the back of the starting groups. All registered participants receive a race bib and a finisher medal. Those who register by May 1 are also guaranteed an event t-shirt. For those unable to attend in person, virtual 5K and 10K options are available, allowing participants to track their own progress at any location during the event weekend.
