Seara's Legacy K9 Trials & 140 Challenge
The Seara's Legacy K9 Trials & 140 Challenge is a multi-sport event held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Indiana. This gathering combines a running and fitness challenge with professional police K9 competitions to support the K-9 Officer Seara Burton Foundation.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- The 140 Challenge (5K & Fitness Challenge)
- 5K ONLY
- Virtual 5K
- K9 Trials (K9 Officers ONLY)
- Challenge & Trials (K9 Officers ONLY)
The 140 Challenge involves a 5K run followed by a bodyweight fitness circuit. This circuit features four specific exercises - sit-ups, squats, push-ups, and lunges - with participants completing 140 repetitions of each movement. These repetitions can be finished by exercise type or through four rounds of 35 reps per circuit. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the run.
The K9 Trials is a specialized competition for police K9 officers. It consists of four distinct events: an open area search, vehicle search, obedience on an obstacle course, and a final "Hard Dog/Fast Dog" competition. Awards are given for each category and for the overall top-performing dog. Spectators are welcome to attend the fairgrounds to watch all segments of the event.
