Seara's Legacy K9 Trials & 140 Challenge
This event combines a community 5K run/walk and a law enforcement K9 competition at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, 861 Salisbury Road, Richmond, IN 47374, on May 16, 2026. The event is presented by a K-9 officer foundation and proceeds will support the foundation's mission and fund K9 departments around the country.
The 140 Challenge pairs a 5K run/walk with an optional fitness challenge completed after the run. The fitness component requires four bodyweight exercises with 140 repetitions of each exercise; exercises are sit-ups, squats, push-ups, and lunges. Each exercise may be completed straight or as four rounds of 35 reps. A virtual 5K option is available; shirts for virtual participants will be mailed to the registration address and virtual results are not eligible for in-person top finisher awards. Top three male and top three female awards are given for the run.
Seara's Legacy K9 Trials are open to certified law enforcement K9 officers only. Trials include four K9 events: Open Area Search, Vehicles, Obedience (Obstacle Course), and Hard Dog/Fast Dog. Awards are given for each category and for the overall Top Dog. Open Area, Vehicles, and the Obstacle Course run concurrently, with Hard Dog/Fast Dog held after those events. Spectators may attend at no charge.
Registration fees vary by entry type and registration windows differ by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
