Event overview
The Seahorse Skedaddle takes place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Mineola Nature Preserve in Mineola, Texas. The event includes in-person and virtual participation options. The organizer does not enforce strict cut-off times, and chip timing is provided for distances 5K and longer. Awards are distributed on site and will not be shipped.
Race options
- Kid's Dash - short 100–200 meter sprint; free entry.
- 5K - chip-timed course with age-group awards.
- 1 Mile - untimed event; finishers receive shirts and medals.
- Virtual Option - shirt and medal shipped the week of the race.
Awards and age groups
Age-group awards for the 5K are awarded four deep in male and female divisions, covering ranges from 0-4 up to 80+. Additional awards include Male and Female Overall, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (60+).
Registration, extras and charity
Registration for in-person entries includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal for the 5K and 1 Mile. Kid dash participants run free but may purchase a shirt or medal as add-ons. Volunteers receive a code for a free race entry as a thank you.
