Seagrave Wolds Challenge
The Seagrave Wolds Challenge is a countryside event based at Seagrave Memorial Hall in Seagrave, Leicestershire. The route runs on public rights of way through the Wreake and Soar Valleys and crosses a variety of terrain that can be rough, muddy or slippery and includes stiles and gates. Participants may encounter livestock in fields and are asked to walk calmly past.
Registration and a pre-event briefing take place at the Memorial Hall. Parking is signed at the top of Seagrave Road towards Sileby. The organisers provide a number of food and drink stops around the route. Mobile medical support is available and participants are expected to carry an emergency contact and a mobile phone.
The event follows the Countryside Code; participants should avoid dropping litter, keep dogs on a lead, stay on public rights of way and avoid walking on farm crops. Road crossings require particular care and participants should follow the instructions of marshalls who are not authorised to stop traffic. Marshalls should be informed if a participant leaves the route without returning to register completion.
