Sea Lion 5K - Niagara Falls, NY
The Sea Lion 5K is presented by the Aquarium of Niagara with both a live race and a virtual option. The live course starts and ends at Great Lakes 360 on the Aquarium campus and follows the New York State Parks trail along the Niagara Gorge next to the Niagara River. A USATF certified course map is available for the live route.
Participants may run, walk, or use strollers. Children under six may participate for free when accompanied by a parent. Virtual participants may complete the 5K any time during the month of September; virtual registration includes an admission pass to the Aquarium of Niagara but virtual entrants are not eligible for physical awards. Virtual runners may pick up their event t-shirt and admission pass at the Aquarium during normal business hours.
All participants who register by September 11 receive an official Sea Lion 5K t-shirt; a limited number of extra t-shirts will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Registration includes admission to the Aquarium and Great Lakes 360, and there is an afterparty held at Whirlpool Commons.
Awards include a certificate for a free animal encounter for the overall top male and female, and a special painting made by a sea lion for top finishers in each age group. Registration fees vary by age and registration timing and include a free option for children age six and under with a parent. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
