ScoCo50: Long Grove, IA
ScoCo50 is a trail event on August 29, 2026 at Scott County Park near Long Grove, Iowa, organized by Sun Trail Running. Distances offered:
- 50K
- 10 Miler
- 5 Miler
The primary course is an approximately 10 mile loop with about 950 feet of elevation gain per loop. The 50K completes the loop three times and the 10 Miler completes it once. The 5 Miler uses portions of the main course and has about 450 feet of elevation gain. Trails are mostly dirt and grass through wooded and prairie areas, with a few short stretches beside paved park roads using a wider shoulder. This is a summer trail race and exposed sections may receive direct sun.
There is a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish and an on-course aid station at roughly 5 miles for the 50K and 10 Miler; the 5 Miler has water around its midpoint. Drop bags are allowed. Crew access is permitted only at the start/finish. Pacers are allowed only for the 50K and may join their runner at the start/finish for the final 10 mile loop; pacers must be on foot. Bikes are not allowed on course.
Registration is online only; there is no paper or race morning registration. The event does not offer refunds or bib transfers. A deferral option provides a 100% rollover credit for the following year if requested by the stated deadline. A waitlist is used once a distance reaches capacity and spots are offered in order.
