ScoCo50 Long Grove, IA
ScoCo50 is a trail race event held at Scott County Park near Long Grove, Iowa. Distances offered are:
- 50K
- 10 Miler
- 5 Miler
The 50K and 10 mile courses use a roughly 10 mile loop that is repeated for the 50K. Each full loop has about 950 feet of elevation gain and includes less than a mile of two way trail. The 5 mile follows portions of the main loop and has about 450 feet of elevation gain. Trails are mostly dirt and grass and run through wooded and prairie areas; short stretches follow the paved park road where a softer shoulder is available.
The start and finish are at the Whispering Pines Shelter in Scott County Park. One fully stocked aid station is at the start and finish area and a second on course serves the 50K and 10 mile course near the five mile mark. The 5 mile has a water point near its midpoint. Drop bags are allowed at aid stations; crew access is limited to the start and finish shelter. Pacers are permitted only for the 50K and may join at the start and finish for the final loop. Bikes are not allowed.
Registration is online only. There are no refunds or bib transfers. Deferrals can be granted with written confirmation and provide a rollover credit for the following year subject to a deadline. A waitlist is used once distances reach capacity. Key event rules include Leave No Trace, no cutting the course, trekking poles allowed, and no dogs on course.
