Schuetzen NEIN! Hour Endurance Run : Davenport, IA
Schuetzen NEIN! is a timed endurance event held on a 0.85 mile trail loop at Schuetzen Park in Davenport, Iowa. Participants try to cover as much distance as possible within a nine hour time limit. The loop averages about 125 to 150 feet of elevation gain and is mostly dirt and chipped rock single track with stair sections and short grass segments. The course may be affected by variable weather and the event proceeds regardless of conditions.
Options include solo entries or a Mannschaft team relay in which teams of up to three runners alternate on the course, one runner at a time, splitting loops or time as they prefer.
A low registration fee covers basic race services including an abundant aid station at the start/finish, hot food, cold beverages, a custom race shirt, and eligibility for the Schuetzen Spanker recognition for certain distances (50k solo, 50 mile relay). The event donates proceeds to park maintenance and has contributed close to $10,000 historically.
Administrative details: online registration only with no race day registration; there are no refunds or bib transfers. A waitlist is used when the event reaches capacity and waitlist invitations must be accepted within specified time windows. Deferrals provide a one year rollover credit if requested by the stated deadline. Parking and restroom facilities are available next to the Jens Lorenzen Pavilion at the start/finish.
