Schuetzen NEIN! Hour Endurance Run
Schuetzen NEIN! is a timed endurance running event held at Schuetzen Park in Davenport, IA, using a repeated trail loop. Runners try to cover as much distance as possible within a nine hour time limit. Entry is offered for solo runners or for teams of up to three runners in a relay format, with one person running at a time.
The course is a 0.85 mile loop with about 125 to 150 feet of elevation gain per loop. The surface is mostly dirt and chipped rock single track with stair sections and short grass segments. The event runs in all weather conditions.
A low registration fee covers aid at the start and finish area, hot food, cold beverages, and a custom race shirt. The event offers a Schuetzen Spanker award for solo runners who exceed 50 kilometers and for relay teams who exceed 50 miles. The organizers report that the event has provided nearly $10,000 in donations to Schuetzen Park to support park maintenance.
Registration is online only and there is no race day registration. If the event fills, a waitlist is used and entrants are moved from the waitlist in order. No refunds or bib transfers are permitted.
