Event overview
ScaryAss is a trail running event at the Fall Creek Day Use Area in Capitol Forest near Olympia, WA. The event offers the following distances:
- 25K
- 14K
- 4K
The 25K route goes to Capitol Peak and returns to the Fall Creek Day Use Area. The 14K is a single-track loop that avoids the peak climb. The 4K runs on mountain bike trails with small rollers and is aimed at children and runners seeking a short trail experience. Kids may run free.
Course and logistics
Courses will be marked. There are no aid stations on course, so participants need to carry their own water and fuel. After the run the event provides witches brew, soup, a candy bag, and a warm fire. The start and finish are at the Fall Creek Day Use Area; access proceeds along Sherman Valley Road with several miles of gravel logging roads. The campground may have space for camping and the large parking lot may be used for overnight rest. Well-behaved, trail-loving dogs are allowed on leash; owners are asked to clean up after their pets and be courteous to other runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
