Event Overview

The SBM Stride for Science is a timed 5K run/walk event. It takes place in Grant Park, Chicago, starting at the corner of E. Balbo Drive and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Route Details

The course runs along Lake Michigan, starting and ending in Grant Park. Runners and walkers can view landmarks like the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Soldier Field. A shorter one-mile loop option will be marked at the Adler Planetarium.

Registration & Participation

Registration requires a minimum $40 donation, which guarantees a run/walk shirt, sunglasses, and a race bib. All proceeds support postdoctoral research through the Society of Behavioral Medicine's Bridging the Gap Research Award. Both runners and walkers are welcome.

Event Logistics

Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the SBM Annual Meeting Registration Desk in the Hilton Chicago. On event day, pickup is at the start/finish line in Grant Park. Participants are encouraged to meet in the Hilton Chicago lobby for a guided walk over to the park. Top three overall male and female participants will receive awards.
