Sazón & Sneakers 5K
Sazón & Sneakers 5K is organized by Spanish Girls Run, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) focused on community and movement. The event marks the close of Hispanic Heritage Month and emphasizes visibility and inclusion for Latinas, women of color, moms, and allies.
Event formats include:
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 miles
- Free Kids Fun Run - ages 10 and under
- Virtual option
The 5K is chip timed; timing will use a disposable chip attached to the back of the bib. The course is USATF certified and is described as fast and flat. The event includes finisher medals, community vendors, and sponsor activations. Race capacity is capped at 500 participants.
Awards are planned for the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female in each age group. Age groups range from 7 & under up to 90+. Shirt sizes are guaranteed to participants who register early; once a size shows as sold out online it is no longer available. Packet pick-up will take place at Front Running Sports, with date to be announced. Parking is available around the shopping plaza.
Proceeds help fund the organization’s programs, including a free women’s self-defense seminar, Miles for Dignity, Meals for the Soul, future scholarships, and race fee sponsorships. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
