Location and Event
The Sawmill Relay takes place in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, specifically in Lee Canyon on Mount Charleston near Las Vegas. The course consists of three loops run counterclockwise: Loop 1 is approximately 5.64 miles, Loop 2 is 8.2 miles, and Loop 3 is 4.3 miles.
Distances and Formats
The event offers solo and relay race options. The total relay distance is approximately 19.22 miles (one circuit of all three loops) or 38.45 miles (two circuits). Solo running distances include:

- 26.2 miles (Marathon)
- 19.23 miles
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile Kids' Run
There are also virtual options for most of these distances.
Course and Amenities
The staging area is at Blue Tree Group Camp. Amenities include hot coffee, chocolate, and tea for all runners. For participants in longer distances, hot food like casseroles, noodles, broth, burgers, and hot dogs is provided, with vegetarian options. Free canned beer is available for those over 21.
Additional Information
The event elevation is around 7,500 feet. Virtual participants can upload their own results and will receive a medal and t-shirt by mail. A packet pickup is held at the staging area before the race.
