Sawmill Ultra - event overview
Sawmill Ultra (Sawmill Relay) takes place on June 6, 2026 in Lee Canyon, Mt. Charleston, within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near Las Vegas. The event offers solo and relay options with multiple race distances. Distances available include:
- 38.45 miles (solo and relay)
- 19.23 miles (solo and relay)
- 26.2 miles (marathon)
- 13.1 miles (half marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 mile kids' run
Virtual options are available for several distances; virtual entrants may upload results and receive a medal and t-shirt by mail (register early to guarantee a shirt). Awards are given for 1st to 3rd place, male and female, for all distances.
Course, logistics and services
The course is made of three loops: about 5.64 miles, 8.2 miles, and 4.3 miles. Loops are run counterclockwise in that order. A three-person relay requires each team member to complete one loop, totaling about 19.22 miles for one circuit or 38.45 miles if the course is done twice as a team.
This is a cup-less race; runners should bring hydration packs to refill at aid stations. Marathon and ultra entries receive gel electrolytes; Gatorade is provided. Packet pickup is at the staging area about 45 to 60 minutes before the event. A bag drop and food service (hot coffee, hot food, vegetarian options) are offered. Beer is available for those 21+ with ID. Parking is at Sawmill Trailhead; GPS: 36.3617, -115.635. Elevation is around 7,500 to 7,600 feet. If the event is canceled, entries are transferred to another Triple Dare Running event; no refunds are issued. Volunteers receive race credit.
